What is Drone Soccer?
Drone Soccer is an exhilarating, adrenaline-fueled sport that merges the enjoyment of soccer with the thrill of maneuvering flying drones in full contact gameplay. Often compared to Quidditch from Harry Potter, this high-tech game challenges each team’s striker to navigate their soccer-ball drone through the opposing goal multiple times.
- Matches are played by 2 teams: 3 or 5 players in each.
- 2 or 3 sets depending on the tournament (each 3 minutes in duration)
- 5-minute countdown between matches gives time for rapid style battery changes, repairs and substitutions. The pressure is on – but it’s all great fun!

Introduction to Drone Soccer
Drone Soccer is a future-style sport in which a team that uses a fully protected drone ball to score more goals in the air will win. One team is made up of 3 or 5 drones, of which one can score through the opponent’s goal is only one designated as a striker. Other balls will play a role in hitting opponents to help them defend or score. The game will be played in three sets and one set will be played in three minutes. Anyone who has experienced drone soccer can realize that three minutes is never short. As the roaring fast drones fly nonstop, attacking and defending, the players need high concentration, and the spectators are also busy watching them for a short period.
Rules of the Game
A Drone Soccer match is played in 2 or 3 winning sets of 3 minutes each, depending on the tournament. Between each set, each team has time (between 3 and 5 minutes) to make repairs and changes. The total duration of a Drone Soccer match is approximately 30 minutes.
The team that wins the most sets wins the game. In the case of a game already won after the second set, the third set will be played for ranking purposes. In the case of a tied set, the winner of that set will be determined by sudden death overtime (first to score wins).
